Their formulation has 3 excellent protein sources – Pea, Whey and Soy with healthy fibers from the sugar beets. This enables the body to maximize the intake of essential ingredients in order to support the body in the best possible way. It is documented with low GI , formulated for a slow uptake and maintains a stable blood sugar level.

Mini Tartlets 🍋🍫

Every time I visited Glens Bakehouse – Banglore, India. Lemon Tarts, Red Velvet Cupcakes were a must.

Glens Bakehouse – Mini Tartlets 😋

Not too sweet and not too sour was my motto! When I tried to recreate their classic dessert.

When Life gives you lemons, Don’t make only Lemonade. You must definitely make Lemon Curd Tarts, Lemon Bars, Lemon Loaf, Lemon Pie, Lemon Curd Cake, Lemon Tea and the list for this versatile ingredient goes on and on and on…..( Read next blog for an amazing dish my way. )

Tart Fillings from Savoy to Sweet, again they can be from Chatpata Chat (Indian) to the very continental👇

  • Nutella 🍫
  • Lemon Curd 🍋
  • Strawberry Sauce 🍓
  • Salted rum caramel 🥃
  • Apple Walnut 🍎
  • Peanut Butter 🥜
  • The various Berries 🍒🍓
  • Smores 🍫
  • Spinach and Corn 🌽
  • Spicy Pumpkin 🎃
  • Mint Cream 🌿
  • Tomato Chilli 🍅🌶️
  • And on and on and on and on….. Can’t stop talking about the different fillings, calling a halt here as the mere thought of more tarts fills me with a gawning Hunger for more.

To make the shortbread crust, I simply mixed

1 3/4 cups all purpose flour, rubbed in 100 grams of butter till it resembled breadcrumbs. I slowly added ice cold water to need it into a Dough. I then set it aside in the refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove and roll out the dough, prick and set into moulds to bake. Bake for 12 minutes at 150°C.

My Lemon puts “tart” in the Tart and here is how it goes.

I boiled together 3/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup water. I added a paste of one tablespoon corn flour and one spoon water give it a boil to thicken. I then added 1/2 tsp lemon zest, 60ml lemon juice, 100gm condensed milk, 50gm butter. I stirred until it thickened and removed from flame and left to cool.

After my lemon curd was cooled and my tart shells were out from the oven, I filled the shells with the lemon curd and left them to cool.

Extrovert? Introvert? Ambivert? Omnivert?

At work or in class, is it you who gets noticed first or perhaps the other people around you ?Do you feel compelled to take centre-stage or are you more comfortable back-stage?  If it’s the former, then you are eager for contact — warm and happy human relations. If it’s the latter, then solitude suits you and stimulates you more and hell is often other people…

An Ambivert is someone whose overall behavior is between introversion or extroversion.

An Omnivert is someone who can be either different at times.

How would I describe myself you ask? I would describe myself as an Ambivert. I could be a little bit of both. I love listening to music, writing, staying in and watching a movie. I strive for a healhy family life and having a meaningful relationship. I also find karaoke fun and I do not mind public speaking.

Here’s a small questionnaire that would help you judge for yourself, the kind of person you are. Answer it and if you need some help regarding your behaviour/attitude, ping me for some tricks and tips for your better self.

Every answer depends upon the Situation you face, these questions are for general situations.

Keep in mind that there is no such thing as a pure extrovert (or introvert), and most people fall somewhere in the middle of the extroversion/introversion continuum. You may even act like an extrovert in one circumstance and an introvert in another. That’s normal! And, even if you just “lean” extroverted, it’s a powerful thing to know about yourself — because it means knowing which activities energize you and which ones drain you.

The Indian Old Fashioned:

Step 1: Add the Sugar Syrup, Angostura Bitters and Water to a cocktail shaker and mix well. If you are using powdered sugar, stir until it is dissolved in the bitters and water.

Step 2: Add one large ice cube, or two smaller ones to a lowball glass and pour in the Blenders Pride whisky.

Step 3: Pour the mixture from the cocktail shaker over the ice cube, and stir gently with a bar spoon.

When it comes to cocktails, vodka seems to be everyone’s go-to liquor. It pairs well with pretty much anything, especially if you choose a vodka with no inherent flavour.

I call it the Red Intoxicator 😝

Vodka Watermelon Cocktail🍸

  1. Add watermelon juice, vodka, lime juice, and your choice of sweetener syrup to a rocks or cocktail glass then stir to combine. Fill glass to the top with ice then serve with fresh mint and garnish with a lime wedge or watermelon wedge. Alternatively, you could add the ingredients into a shaker, fill it halfway up with ice, then shake to chill.
  2. If you like your drink fizzy, feel free to top it off with about 2 ounces of club soda or even Sprite.

A Drink shared with family always tastes better 😉 Especially when you have the approval and are not ashamed to sit with them and enjoy.

The Royal Breakfast

The Royal Sindhi Breakfast – Dal Pakwan 😋

Crispy flat Puris with a soft golden lentil topped with a sweet tamarind sauce and a spicy mint chutney and garnished with finely chopped onions, coriander and green chilli – The ever Famous Dal Pakwan.

We Sindhis did not leave the Mexican cuisine alone. This Dal Pakwan can be presented as a taco too. 🌮🌮

We Sindhis cherish this traditional dish for breakfast, lunch and Dinner. The wedding houses definitely have it as one of the main dishes at a ritual which is enjoyed by one and all.

We Sindhis love our food and all the different cuisines possible be it Punjabi, Gujrati, Bengali or Marvadi. Our only criteria is it should be lip smacking.

Dal Pakwan is high in calories and made healthier with the addition of Gajar ka Halwa or the Gulab Jamun to round off with a glass of Buttermilk, Heavy on cream.

There are many a variations to making this Dal. Either Cooking it with the tadka or adding it later. Adding some moong dal into the chana dal or cooking plain chana dal. Some with tomato, some without. And soo on and soo forth.

We live to Eat and we Eat to live. It is said that we can survive on plain Dal, Rice Sabzi and Roti. But then where’s the pleasure in it. Afterall Everything we do right down to earning money is for the pleasure of buying ( good, fresh and organic fruits and vegetables ) and eating them. So good earning = good food.

The Easiest and Yummiest Dal Pakwan :

Soak the Dal for an hour. In a cooker, heat oil, add jeera, green chilli, hing, Ginger garlic paste, curry leaves. Cook for two minutes. Add the soaked Dal, water, turmeric powder and salt. Give it two whistles.

Depp fry the pakwan from a dough of maida, salt. Roll it out and prick it so that it does not become a puri. Deep Fry until Golden Brown.

PS : Definitely skip a meal before eating this Dal Pakwan to do complete Justice to one of the yummiest Sindhi meals you can have!

Rainy weather + Masala Chai ✔️

Feeling bored? Have chai.

Want to chat up about something important? Let’s get chai!

Bored at work? Chai will refresh things up for you.

Want to fight the winter chill? You are one step away from feeling warm with chai.

A friend, a healer and a companion – Chai is synonymous with so many emotions. People love drinking coffee, but for me, and a lot of Indians, nothing can replace a good-old cup of chai.

Rain makes everything beautiful ❤️

It’s always better to have a hot cup of tea when you are looking at rain droplets falling on your window sill or standing in your balcony and sipping on to it while it’s raining!

It always calms your mind when you are watching the rain, sipping on the tea, listening to some relaxing music.

It’s so versatile, depending on your ingredients on hand, you can make it with only fresh milk or condensed milk and ice, or all three!

Take a glass, Add 2 spoons of rose syrup, add some milk and add a drop of vanilla extract or rose extract to enhance the Taste. Stir and gulp or enjoy sip by sip. Best served chilled!

Staples Of Sindhi Food 😋

Sindhis are an Indo-Aryan ethno-linguistic group who speak the Sindhi language and are native to the Sindh province of Pakistan. After the partition of India in 1947, most Sindhi Hindus and Sikhs migrated to the newly formed Dominion of India and other parts of the world.

Our daily Cusine consists of wheat-based-flatbread (Phulka) and rice accompanied by two dishes one gravy and one dry with curd or pickle and Pappad. A Sindhis meal is incomplete without a Pappad in plate.

From the regular Koki or Mani, To the Aaloo Paratha, Mooli Paratha,.. The list of Parathas are endless, and trust me, Sindhi’s can make Parathas out of anything at all including Palak Panner, left over Daal, Any left over Sabzi, Cheese, or the plain Namak Mirchi Paratha. We, Sindhis are pretty famous for our Healthy (Fatty) food. And Parathas, specialy once cooked with Butter or Ghee are really Relished.

Why do Sindhis eat Papad?

In a hot and dry environment like that exists in Sindh, it makes sense to replenish the salt and minerals lost due to perspiration in order to avoid dehydration. Thus, when a guest arrives at home, the very first act of kindness, a Sindhi offers is a serving of Papad with water.

P.S. It is just soo Yummy that we Sindhis eat it 24/7 – Anytime, Anyday.

A Health Based Roti filled with methi leaves and coriander leaves – Methi Paratha accompanied by Dahi Vada, Palak Aaloo, Pappad and Pickle. — HUNGRY, EATEN AND DIGESTED already, today as lunch.
